Facilities at Newland Hurst

Newland Hurst is a Victorian house situated in one and a half acres of grounds. Founded in 1977, it has since been transformed and extended into a modern facility with sixteen well-appointed rooms, three comfortable lounges, a large dining room and well-equipped laundry and maintenance facilities. There is also a self-contained flat which is designed to enable the maximum possible autonomy for up to four residents.

There are areas dedicated to creative activities and there is a large hall with a kitchen which we hire out for training events, activities, parties/discos, band rehearsals and community groups. If you would like to know more please contact

There is a large garden nicely laid out, which is in a continuous process of change and improvement. It includes a greenhouse and two sizeable vegetable plots, and the residents enjoy taking part in the growing and harvesting of fresh fruit and vegetables, which are used in the kitchen. There are also ornamental flower beds which the residents help to maintain, and large areas of lawn and woodland.
